Politically Empowering the Atheist and Humanist Community

The separation of church and state, secular government, and our pluralist democracy are all under attack by members of the white Christian Nationalist movement. The secular, unaffiliated and nonreligious communities — whose populations, according to the Pew Research Council, represent 25% of the population (and growing) — has the potential to counter this dangerous and anti-democratic movement.

At our November 14th meeting, Ron Millar will join us in-person to discuss efforts to politically organize the atheist, agnostic and humanist communities.
Ron is the Political and PAC Coordinator, Center for Freethought Equality, the advocacy and political arm of the American Humanist Association, and their political action committee, Freethought Equality Fund. This PAC works to achieve equality for the nontheist community by increasing the number of open humanists and atheists in public office at all levels of government.

Ron holds a PhD from Virginia Tech, where his dissertation explored organizational learning among groups litigating church-state cases before the Supreme Court.

This is an event of Humanists and Freethinkers of Fairfield County (HFFC). Info at hffcct.org. Pre-register at...
